Area information

Gumbet is located on the Southwest coast of Turkey and is a 35 km transfer fromBodrum BJV airport. This purpose-built resort is geared towards youngerholidaymakers, couples and families and is best suited to those who preferbeaches by day and bars and clubs by night. There are a number of souvenirshops, fast food outlets and snack bars in the resort centre. During the daywatersports are available on the light sand beach including water ski-ing,parasailing and windsurfing. Gumbet has good connections to Bodrum by dolmus(minibus), where there is a wider choice of shops.
Located in the centreof Gumbet, this hotel offers not only a vast array of facilities but also someof the most attractively furnished rooms in town. The hotel and all its roomsare built around the rectangular open plan courtyard. A number of balconiesoverlook this area where dinner is served open buffet style in the evening. TheSunway is also only 2 minutes walk away from the beach.

I think what makes The Ambassador Hotel a good choise to stay here, is that staff that works here. They are all very eager to help us with anything we needed and are very friendly. Coming to Istanbul Turkey was the first place that I have been outside of the United States and the waiter upstairs, Sezgin was very help telling me about the different foods here and what is in them. He and Ferit were very pleasant and actually made it were we didn't have to get up to get our food in the morning because they recommended what my parents and I liked. Also downstairs in reception Nuray and Erhan helped us a lot and gave good advice on what sightes to see and what shops and stores were best to shop. They are both very easy to talk to and not only that Erhan is very very cute :-) Even though the maids could not speak much English they did an awsome job on my room the nine days I was here. And also Zeki gave a wonderful massage. He was very professional and friendly and you could tell he knew exactly what he was talking about. And of course the guide Nuri did an awsome job. Not only did he show us many places in Istanbul, he kept us entertained with his jokes and open personality. The time spend in Turkey has been very fun, exciting, pleasant and the staff at the Ambassador Hotel definately helped. Keep up the good work!!

Spent three nights at the Ambassador. They had a package that entailed picking me up and returning me to the airport and two days of guided tours. It was convenient to everything in the historical district. I really enjoyed my experience and would recommend this trip to anyone.

We just returned from vacation and spent 4 nights at the Ambassador. The reviews from other travellers are all very accurate. Everyone on the staff was friendly and extremely helpful, the location is a stone's throw from the Blue Mosque and the Aya Sophia, the view from our breakfast table was amazing, and the breakfast buffet was excellent. But the building is showing its age and we ran into a few problems with plumbing (don't drink the water!!) and electricity (the A/C was not always working and the lights didn't always work) but any problems were trumped by the friendly staff, the excellent location, and that view! It also helps if you like cats!

The Ambassador Hotel proved to be a welcome respite from the large, anonymous American-style hotels which many tourists choose when overseas. The location is phenomenal, with an amazing terrace view of both the Aya Sophia and the Blue Mosque. The staff, especially Nuray and Melanie, could not have been nicer, speaking perfect English and offering many suggestions for sights and nearby restaurants. The Hammam, located on the premises, is beautiful-- the Turkish massage for only 30 euros--a once in a lifetime experience! The massage alone is worth a repeat stay. Wonderful restaurants line the small street outside, and don't miss the Ancient Cistern, only 2 blocks away. Although the room was very basic, it was large and clean. The exotic buffet breakfast is lovely--very authentically Turkish-- on the terrace, with the afore-mentioned awesome views. Would I stay here again? Yes, without hesitation!!
